Hines Volunteer Fire Department
The City of Hines Volunteer Fire Department operates out of one station with a volunteer fire chief and 13 paid-on-call volunteer firefighters. Our service area includes the City of Hines and automatic aid response with the City of Burns on structure and wildland fires. The HVFD enjoys a partnership with the Burns Interagency Fire Zone and Harney District Emergency management Services, under mutual aid agreements.
The City of Hines Volunteer Fire Department maintains an ISO Classification 6 and provides the following services:
- Structural fire suppression
- Fire and life safety education and programs
- Code enforcement
- Community event support and participation
- Wildland fire suppression
- Motor vehicle accident response
- Hazardous materials response
- Mitigation planning
The HVFD is always recruiting volunteer members to serve in both emergency and non-emergency roles. We need community-minded volunteers who:
- Have a strong desire and interest in serving the community
- Have pride and dedication in making the community safe
- Are willing to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice
- Are willing to work as a team player
- Have an interest in providing customer service
*** The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets on Monday nights from 7-9pm and occasional weekends for training.***
