Hines Volunteer Fire Department

The City of Hines Volunteer Fire Department operates out of one station with a volunteer fire chief and 13 paid-on-call volunteer firefighters. Our service area includes the City of Hines and automatic aid response with the City of Burns on structure and wildland fires. The HVFD enjoys a partnership with the Burns Interagency Fire Zone and Harney District Emergency management Services, under mutual aid agreements.

The City of Hines Volunteer Fire Department maintains an ISO Classification 6 and provides the following services:

  • Structural fire suppression
  • Fire and life safety education and programs
  • Code enforcement
  • Community event support and participation
  • Wildland fire suppression
  • Motor vehicle accident response
  • Hazardous materials response
  • Mitigation planning

The HVFD is always recruiting volunteer members to serve in both emergency and non-emergency roles. We need community-minded volunteers who:

  • Have a strong desire and interest in serving the community
  • Have pride and dedication in making the community safe
  • Are willing to respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice
  • Are willing to work as a team player
  • Have an interest in providing customer service

*** The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets on Monday nights from 7-9pm and occasional weekends for training.***

Please contact City Hall, if you are interested in committing to volunteer.
